United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has called for a special Climate Change summit on September 23, where world leaders will gather to discuss, and hopefully commit to bold actions to address the climate crisis. The Secretary General is urging governments to support an ambitious global agreement to dramatically reduce global warming pollution.
With our future on the line and the whole world watching, we need to raise our voices too. A massive People’s Climate March will take place in New York City on Sunday, September 21. It is being organized by a network of environmental groups, international NGO’s, grassroots networks, religious organizations, and an array of other groups.
The City Congregation for Humanistic Judaism has signed on as one of over 1000 participatory organizations and we look forward to marching in strength together as a community. Details about what time and where City Congregation members will gather will be emailed to people who have signed up to walk with us. These details are also available online when you sign up. It’s not too late to to indicate that you intend to join TCC on the People’s Climate March.
