HELLO MUDDAH, HELLO FADDAH: A Songfest of Allan Sherman’s Musical Mind
Come meet Harvey and Sheila, Sarah Jackman, and Al and Yetta. Find out about the television writer and producer (I’ve Got a Secret), and song parodist from the “Madman” 60s. Hear live performances by congregation members of rare, never released take-offs of Broadway shows (e.g. South Passaic). Join in a sing-a-long of familiar favorites from such albums as My Son, The Folksinger.
Developed and organized by TCC members Peter Mones and Louise Moed, with inspiration from Mark Cohen’s new biography, OVERWEIGHT SENSATION: The Life and Comedy of Allan Sherman.
Peter and Louise together and separately have worked on various People of the Libretto programs. They are long-time Alan Sherman aficionados and look forward to sharing their enthusiasm with other Sherman fans.
The cultural program and pot-luck dessert follow Shabbat services. Childcare provided for children 11 and younger
All are welcome at this free event.
