PEOPLE OF THE LIBRETTO: The Singer-Songwriter Edition
Previous editions of the People of the Libretto series have surveyed music heard on the biggest stages: Broadway musical theater, Hollywood movie music, and 1960s’ pop music created in the Brill Building. This year, the focus moves to the more intimate art form created by singer-songwriters. Included will be songs by such legends as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Phil Ochs, Paul Simon, Janis Ian, Billy Joel, Randy Newman, Phoebe Snow, Laura Nyro, and Arlo Guthrie.
TCC members Trudy Elins, David Klein, Jennifer Naparstek Klein, Joshua Nelson, Dan Wyman, and Emy Zener will present commentary and sing some of the great songs created by these Jewish songwriters. Louise Moed will provide piano accompaniment.
This same production will also be performed at our Sunday Adult Perspectives session on January 26.
The cultural program and pot-luck dessert follow Shabbat services. Childcare provided for children 11 and younger
