Town Hall Meeting

What sort of political and social action do City Congregation members want to take in the next year?

Who wants to start a women’s writing group at TCC?

How many members want to enable TCC parents to exchange strategies and info on choosing summer camps and getting kids to come to KidSchool?
Have you been interviewed yet? TCC members have been interviewing each other about our lives and discussing our biggest concerns for the years ahead. These are just a few of the questions and ideas coming out of our TCC Interviewing Campaign.

At our Town Hall Meeting on May 7th, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other, we’ll report back on everything that we heard from you in our interviews, and we’ll begin to turn these great ideas into concrete activities.

Please come help build the next chapter of City Congregation!

Join us on Sunday May 7 at 3:30-5:15PM  at SAJ.

Pre Passover Seder

passoverload

The City Congregation celebrates Passover as a joyous spring holiday of rebirth and as a commemoration of the Jewish people’s escape from slavery in Egypt — without overlooking modern scholarship. For Humanistic Jews the fact that our ancestors have retold the Passover story for so many centuries is what makes the holiday significant, not the murky details of the original story itself. We retell the tale because doing so links us to our families and the generations that have preceded us.

Our text is The Liberated Haggadah: A Passover Celebration for Cultural, Secular, and Humanistic Jews, written by Rabbi Peter Schweitzer. Historically accurate, it celebrates our forebears, ancient and modern, who made the trip to freedom. If you can’t get to our Seder, download Rabbi Peter’s Hagaddah now.

Always a special treat, Rabbi Peter has compiled many haroset recipes from around the world.  Feel free to use them for your own seders, to take to families and friends, and, of course, you can use one of your choosing to bring with you to share at our City Congregation Seder

Unfortunately, we can no longer accept reservations for this Seder.
