Monuments and Memorial: Binding Wounds, Stirring Debate

How do we mark national traumas? What are the messages conveyed by memorials? Are some more effective than others? Rabbi Peter Schweitzer will lead a discussion using a slide and video presentation that will look at memorials to the Holocaust, 9/11, the Vietnam War, Hiroshima, and the new national memorial in Montgomery, Alabama to victims of lynching in the South.
