In the second century of the common era lived a woman named Beruriah. She was the only woman lauded in the Mishnah and Talmud as a sage. Her intelligence was so sharp that it pierced the cloying veil of the patriarchy enveloping early Rabbinic Judaism. Here is her inspiring story.
