The Art & Life of Florine Stettheimer – Kaela Walker

While not a household name, American artist Florine Stettheimer was a trailblazing Jewish feminist who participated in neo-impressionism, symbolism, surrealism, and Dada – movements for which European male artists took precedence. This talk will provide an overview of Florine’s life and showcase her diverse art within the context of the times (the first half of the 20th century).

Kaela Walker is an Art History major, University of Maryland ‘20. She has been a member of The City Congregation for many years. Her first presentation to The City Congregation was about Iconic Jewish Deli Foods at her Bat Mitzvah in 2012.
