Three Secular Jews Talk about the Bible

Many people assume that humanistic ideas about the Bible focus on uncritical approval of its ethical teaching but this is not necessarily so. This evening, three very individualistic congregation members share what they think about when they are thinking about the Bible.

Speakers:

Gladys Foxe: Psychoanalyst and student of American Literature and pre-Biblical mythology.
Ernie Rubinstein: Religious Studies scholar and teacher.
Deb Freeman: former manager at the US Environmental Protection Agency; currently Producer at WBAI radio.

After the program, please stay for our pot luck desserts and schmoozing. We’ll provide wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
