Secular Rosh Hashanah Services
Join us to bring in the new year and for meaningful introspection at our secular Rosh Hashanah service!
Humanistic Jews observe the Jewish New Year as a time for self-reflection and self-examination, and City Congregation’s Rosh Hashanah service is a beautiful and moving blend of music and contemplation that expresses traditional themes, while honoring human reason and human dignity — complete with apples and honey!
Led by Rabbi Tzemah Yoreh, the service features participatory readings from members and will be followed by an optional, informal community meal, organized by a City Congregation member, at a local restaurant. This option is available to anyone who is interested in attending.
Children attend their own dynamic participatory program and join the rest of the congregation for the blowing of the shofar. Children’s services are free for members, as are all holiday services.
