Cultural program:
Jews of Color – Sarah Breger
In the wake of this past summer’s Black Lives Matter activism and the discussion of identity politics, Moment Magazine, (the Jewish affairs magazine) Deputy Editor Sarah Breger explored the origins of the term in her September, 2020 article “Jews of Color: the power—and limitations—of a porous term.” In this cultural program, Sarah will explore the genesis of the piece and the response to it at the time and since it was written.
Sarah Breger is the Deputy Editor of Moment Magazine and Director of the Daniel Pearl Investigative Initiative. While at Moment she has won numerous awards, including first place for Religion Reporting of the Year from the Religion News Association and first place for Best In-depth News Writing on Religion from the American Academy of Religion. She is a graduate of the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and the University of Pennsylvania.
