A member-run community
The City Congregation is managed almost entirely by volunteers. We are always looking for extra hands to set up events and make copies, and for people with specific skills ranging from accounting to graphic design. Lending your time or expertise will allow us to continue offering programs that serve our entire community.

Ongoing volunteer opportunities
We are always looking for members to help set up at events and to greet members and guests as they arrive.
Join a committee
Members able to make a longer-term commitment to helping run the congregation can join a committee dedicated to the work that interests them most. It’s a great opportunity to meet and work together with other members for the common good.
Work with the Rabbi to plan and and organize Adult Perspectives programs.
Create and implement print and online advertising.
Help run and promote bar and bat mitzvah program and recruit mentors.
Update and maintain web site and email newsletter.
Plan long- and short-term strategies for growing and funding the congregation.
Work with Executive Board and other committees to manage congregation budget.
High Holidays and Passover
Work with other members to organize the congregation’s largest annual events.
Help run the KidSchool and respond to parent and teacher needs.
Work to bring in new members and serve the needs of existing ones.
Plan cultural events and provide food, drink, and music for Shabbat services.
Identify charity and social justice causes for the congregation to take part in.
