The City Congregation for Humanistic Judaism is a secular Jewish community. Together we celebrate Jewish tradition, ritual, and culture from a non-theistic, humanistic perspective. We are committed to Jewish values and the development of rich relationships with people of all backgrounds.
We affirmatively welcome people from Black, Asian, Indigenous, and other non-European backgrounds, as well as those from the Sephardic and Mizrahi traditions. Our members include people of all abilities, ages, and classes.
As humanistic Jews, we are committed to the hard work of ending racism, homophobia and transphobia, anti-Semitism, and the many other ways that people of different backgrounds and experiences are often excluded or marginalized. We are committed to growing as human beings and as leaders in our own community and in society at large.
The City Congregation community welcomes you regardless of your Jewish or non-Jewish background, identity, knowledge or experience. Our members come from all ethnic, faith and secular backgrounds and from all histories of observance.
We want to get to know you. Together, let’s continue to learn about and celebrate Jewish – and all-human history. Together, we can pass on the values of enlightened, secular, Jewish life to the next generations.
