Online Open House followed by Shabbat service
Judaism for the Way We Live Now
Find out about our community, our activities, our philosophy, and how Humanistic Judaism appeals to secular cultural Jews.
Our Open House is open to all – those with or without children, interfaith couples, people looking to become Jewish or looking to reconnect with their Jewish identity and everyone else.
In this session we’ll discuss these topics and more:
- High Holidays – Learn about our secular Humanistic liturgy, music and talks given by our members.
- Shabbat Services and other holidays
- KidSchool – Our Sunday afternoon school offers a cultural, secular and Humanistic understanding of Jewish identity and concepts, for children in preschool through 7th grade.
- B’Mitzvah Program – A meaningful, values based program focused on the student’s self-discovery.
- Adult B’Mitzvah Program – A more intellectually focused variant of our teen B’Mitzvah program.
- Adoption – While we don’t require anyone to “become Jewish”, some people want to bolster their Humanistic Jewish identity by learning more about the history, tradition and values of the Jewish people. Rather than conversion, we adopt you into our community after a period of study.
- Secular Talmud Study – A weekly dive into the Talmud as an historical text from a secular perspective.
- Lifecycle Events – Members of our community mark transitions in their lives in a way that’s meaningful to them including baby namings, B’Mitzvahs, weddings, funerals, memorial services, and unveiling ceremonies.
This event takes place on Zoom.
