Forgiving Ourselves: Ten Ways to Make Our New Year Better

There’s a plethora of reasons why things don’t work out; some of those we can control, and some we can’t. We don’t always employ the power we do have for several different reasons. Sometimes, it’s simply because we are unfamiliar with exerting that control.  It may be because we’re used to acting on impulse, or ego, or have been conditioned to think that being hard on ourselves – and others – is the way to achieve.

But being hard on ourselves is one of the safest ways to make sure we will be unhappy, and unhappy people, by definition, have less energy, drive, and will to get things done. And, unhappiness is an obstacle to enjoying the process.

Our speaker will present a few different methods to improve our relationship with ourselves, out of her education and experience in life coaching, based on many simple truths we’re used to ignoring. These ideas, if we’re made aware of and remember, can make the upcoming year just a little easier, but far more enjoyable and satisfying.

Aya “Bell” Shacham is an Israeli Life Coach and art teacher. On her journey to become a better teacher she decided she needed ways to give more effective, constructive feedback, and spent two years studying to be a Life Coach and learning tools to help form good habits and enjoy life more. She tries to spread joy by sharing the lessons she’s learned about building a path to reach goals, and finding new ways to think about life.
