Cultural program : The Original Bible – Rabbi Tzemah Yoreh
From Rabbi Tzemah:
“What if I told you that with a few strokes of an editor’s pen you could make the Bible into such an exciting story that you wouldn’t want to put it down until you read the last page? And that you would actually be reading a truer and more original story?
Bible professors have known for many years that the most boring parts of the Five Books of Moses were actually added on by the ancient equivalent of accountants: all the lists of sacrifices and temple furniture, all the laws, all the intricate family lists—these were added by curmudgeonly priests. It’s the racy story of Abraham selling off his lovely wife Sarah to the highest bidder that came first.”
In this opening talk of the year Rabbi Tzemah will introduce you to his newest book: ‘The Original Bible’, where he will reveal the very first story told by the Jews almost 3,000 years ago.
After the program, please stay for our pot luck desserts and schmoozing. We’ll provide wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
RSVP is strongly requested but not required.
