Shabbat Service and Cultural Program

7:30 service, led by Rabbi Emeritus Peter Schweitzer.

Cultural program: IN HIS OWN WORDS: A Tribute to Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine (1928-2007) – Rabbi Emeritus Peter Schweitzer

On July 21, 2007, Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine, our beloved founder of Humanistic Judaism, died in a terrible car accident while vacationing in Morocco. Rabbi Peter Schweitzer, Rabbi Emeritus of City Congregation, will reflect on his personal relationship with Rabbi Wine and the influence Rabbi Wine had on him. Then we will hear a presentation that recalls Rabbi Wine’s history and the development of our movement that highlights his own words and writing.

After the program, please stay for our pot luck desserts and schmoozing. We’ll provide wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea.

RSVP is Strongly requested but not required.
