Dr. David Marwell, former director of NYC’s Museum of Jewish Heritage-A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, details the 1980s search for Dr. Josef Mengele. Was he dead or alive? If alive—where? Delving into Mengele’s life, career, and association within the Nazi regime, Dr. Marwell, working for the Department of Justice, lead a world- wide hunt to find and confirm the Auschwitz doctors’ location. Covering time and distance, leads and luck, his story provides a window into the determination, conviction, and conclusion of a chapter of Nazi atrocities.

Dr. Marwell is an historian who has served and led a number of government and non-profit institutions.

After the program, please stay for our pot luck desserts and schmoozing. We’ll provide wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea.
