Shabbat Service and Cultural Program

Our Shabbat service.

Cultural program:

Jewish Currents

Jacob Plitman will be joining us to discuss the past, present, and future of progressive Judaism. The quarterly magazine Jewish Currents is 75 years old; since its relaunch in 2018 it has quadrupled in size, thanks to a large influx of progressive millennial secular Jews. While this growth is significant, it is only one of several millennial-driven examples of expanding progressive Jewish organizations. Why is this happening? What history led us here? And what does it mean for the future?

Jacob Plitman is the Publisher of Jewish Currents. Before relaunching the magazine, Jacob served as the deputy director of J Street U, organized with refugees for better conditions in the Ritsona camp in Greece, and worked with Jose Antonio Vargas at Define American. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
