Yom HaShoah Shabbat: Women in the Holocaust
What were the experiences unique to women during the Holocaust? What were the different skills, knowledge and expertise that enabled some Jewish women to survive? Were there differences in the nature of the harassment, work requirements, that the Nazis imposed on Jewish men and women? Why do some historians object to studying the Holocaust through the lens of gender? These questions will be discussed based on historical research and survivor testimonies.
