Rabbi Tzemah’s books

Rabbi Tzemah Yoreh is a prolific author who wrote various books.

In his book series, Kernel to Canon, Rabbi Yoreh enjoys exploring the history of scripture through a philological lens, and seeing the changes scripture went through. In the series  The bible as it was he explores specific historical versions of scripture.

In a less academic and more personal interest, Rabbi Tzemah wrote poetic alternatives for traditional prayer  in his Humanistic prayer series and Siddurim for skeptics.

In his Feminist exploration, Rabbi Yoreh wrote gender-flipped versions of specific books in the series The Bible in the feminine.

Siddur for skeptics

Rabbi Yoreh’s Siddurs foe skeptics have the traditional prayer on one side and poetic humanist alternatives on the other. It is offered as an aid to those who wish to participate in synagogue prayer, yet do not fully identify with the traditional siddur.

Kernel to Canon

Like beautifully layered rock formations lining the walls of a desert canyon, so is the Biblical text. Story is piled upon story until the foundations are invisible. Those foundations tell a different story—one that only a trained geologist can tease from the rock; one that only a Biblical philologist, trained in the dissection of literature, can find in the text.

In this series, Rabbi Yoreh digs into the depths of scripture to find the earliest version of them and uses literary geology will isolate the development of divergent accounts into the canonical texts we have today.

The Bible as it Was

This companion volume to the Kernel to Canon series tells the stories as told in specific versions of the scripture.

The bible in the feminine

What if the Bible was dominated by strong female voices instead of males? Would we relate to the Bible differently? In this experiment, Rabbi Yoreh switches the gender of every character in the Biblical text.
