Shabbat Cultural Program: Ethics in Media

On December 18th, 2020, we had the honor and pleasure of having a guest speaker: Peter Loge, who was gracious enough to allow us to share a recording of his presentation about Ethics in Media and advocacy.

Peter Loge, a political communications expert and advocacy consultant, helps us examine how our advocacy for various issues entails ethical choices we may not think about, and how we sometimes choose between effective campaigning for good causes and the face of public discourse – without realizing that’s the choice we make.

Peter Loge is an Associate Professor in the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University. Over a 25-year career, he has served in senior staff positions in the US Congress and at the FDA during the Obama administration. As a strategic consultant, he has advised a range of organizations from American Farmland Trust and America’s Funniest Home Videos to the U.S. Institute of Peace and the World Wildlife Fund.

Currently, Peter is the director of a new initiative called the Project on Ethics in Political Communication.
