Cultural Program: Imprisonment and Judaism

On April 9th, 2021, we had the honor and pleasure of having a guest speaker join Rabbi Tzemah: Ms. Betsy Isaacson. They spoke about imprisonment, and how you can help ease the life of prisoners, and possibly get involved beyond that. They were gracious enough to allow us to share a recording of their talks.

Rabbi Tzemah spoke about why some feel it is our obligation as Jews to oppose imprisonment in a talk by Rabbi Tzemah.

Betsy Isaacson followed to tell us about ways to connect with and improve the life of a prisoner by becoming pen pals. Betsy runs a letter-based role playing game for incarcerated and non-incarcerated people alike. Click here to learn more.

She also touched upon how to hear about – and get involved – in hearings about prisoner’s rights and legislation that affects them.

Betsy Isaacson is the owner of Mirror world creations, a small business that offers collaborative storytelling and role playing games for families and events.
